*Last edited November 13* Well, I am now finished with school work. Forever. I'm still getting used to that... Anyway, this means I have time to do translations again. :D And at long last I get to experience the lyrics of BLOOD's new vocalist, Fu-ki. I bought their first new single with him as the vocalist, BLIND, at Fanime a couple weekends ago... best few days of my life, I might add. Anyway, BLIND. It took me all of... 2 listens to become obsessed with this song. Fu-ki's voice is deeper and a little more... rough?... than Takeshi's or Dai's, but depending on the lyrics it can also be melty-smooth. So in other words Fu-ki's fitting right in with this band. ^_^ *gives him a noogie* So now that I have time to kill and no more school work to do, and I'm too hyper to go to bed, I'm going to try to translate BLIND now. [1] This line bothers me simply because the English is awkward. By becoming frozen, he means to freeze in place, become frozen on the spot, that kind of thing. But I can't figure out how to word it so it sounds right. Just 'frozen' sounds... not enough, to me (and 'freeze' sounds like even less than enough). But everything else is too much. >_< (edit: Calla says 'frozen' makes her think of 'paralyzed', which makes me happy, because that's the meaning intended by the line. yay! meanings are coming through!) There. Quick take on BLIND. The more I work on it, the more I figure out and get done... this is a good thing... (disclaimer: this song belongs to BLOOD, not me. I only take credit for the romanization and translation. I'm just a fangirl trying to make J-music a little more accessible to Americans. No copyright infringement is intended. I'm always finding Japanese songs that I adore, but can't find English translations for. So I've made a hobby of translating such songs, and this is where I put them. Can't find the song you want? Send me the lyrics (kanji if possible, but romaji will do) and I'll see what I can do. But no promises, as I'm not exactly the most fluent Japanese speaker around.
