*Last edited November 13* My First Period Best CD came in! :D And the only song on it that's actually included in the lyrics sheet (the demo tracks aren't) that isn't translated yet is Tsuioku ~I remember you~, which goes here now. ^^ First off, the chorus of this song was stuck in my head from the moment I heard it onward. So catchy, yet pretty and sweet at the same time. Also, even though this is the 1st period when Dai was the vocalist, Takeshi gets to do some background vocals, which, I must say, are simply gorgeous. ^_^ I adore his voice... he darn well better turn up on the music scene again someday. Soon. And "tsuioku" translates to reminiscence, recollection, etc. The simplest interpretation is probably memory, but I think that's a little to simple for me... *shrug* It's the same idea though, so translate that as you wish. I prefer the reminiscence meaning myself. Maybe just because I like that word. TSUIOKU ~I REMEMBER YOU~ Kaze ni notte kieru ano hi no omoide mo Nokoshite kureta ai no uta mo susande yuku Kareha matta chiisa na oka de sunda hitomi de mitsumeru shoujo Yasuraka na kodou ga sora ni tobitatta Kasunda sora wa mujou ni mo ame ga furu Kimi ga nemutta chiisa na oka de meguru kisetsu ni kimi o omou darou Motto sunao ni nareba kimi o ikasenakatta Tonari ni iru hazu no kimi wa mo inai Motto tsutaetakatta motto soba ni itakatta Yorisouiatta futari wa mou kasanaranai Hikari no naka de kimi ga te o sashinoberu ...kimi ni furetara kowarete shimau... ...kimi wa nido to modoranai... Kimi ga nemutta chiisa na oka de meguru kisetsu ni kimi o omou darou Motto sunao ni nareba kimi o ikasenakatta Tonari ni iru hazu no kimi wa mou inai Motto tsutaetakatta motto soba ni itakatta Yorisouiatta futari wa mou kasanaranai Motto sunao ni nareba kimi o ikasenakatta Sepia no kanjou ga mune o hikisaku Motto tsutaetakatta motto soba ni itakatta Tsumetai ame ni utarete kurui naita ~I remember you~ In English: Even my memories of that day vanish, riding away on the winds Even the love song you left behind for me wastes away At the small hill where dried leaves fluttered about, a young girl gazes through clear eyes That calm heartbeat flew off into the heavens Rain falls cruelly from the hazy sky At the small hill where you slept, Surely I'll think of you as the seasons turn If only I'd been more sincere... I couldn't bring you to life [1] You, who I thought would stay by my side, are now gone I wanted to tell you more, I wanted to be near you more The two of us, who held each other close, will never again lie together From within the light, you reach out your hand ...at your touch, I fall apart... ...you'll never return again... At the small hill where you slept, Surely I'll think of you as the seasons turn If only I'd been more sincere... I couldn't bring you to life You, who I thought would stay by my side, are now gone I wanted to tell you more, I wanted to be near you more The two of us, who held each other close, will never again lie together If only I'd been more sincere... I couldn't bring you to life Sepia-colored emotions tear my heart apart I wanted to tell you more, I wanted to be near you more Struck by the cold rain, in confusion, I cried ~I remember you~ The footnote of DOOM... [1] Actually, from my experience with the grammar in this line, it MIGHT say something like "If I'd been more sincere, I wouldn't have been able to bring you to life." Which makes some sense to me, actually, in the sense that he's revived his this girl in his memory and now he's falling apart because of it. What I ended up writing has an entirely different meaning, obviously. I'll probably never know which was intended. *sigh* Oohhh... I love this song. Even more now. *weep* It just makes me wanna hug Takeshi. And Takeshi didn't even sing or write this - Dai did. :P;; But I know nothing about Dai, and I LOVE Takeshi, and Takeshi does have some beautiful backup vocals in this... so there. *hugs him* (disclaimer: this song belongs to BLOOD, not me. Romanization is by Kui and was found at The Holy Order of BLOOD; I just made a few small changes. I only take credit for the translation. I'm just a fangirl trying to make J-music a little more accessible to Americans. No copyright infringement is intended. Please don't sue me - I'm not a student anymore, but I'm still poor. I'm always finding Japanese songs that I adore, but can't find English translations for. So I've made a hobby of translating such songs, and this is where I put them. Can't find the song you want? Send me the lyrics (kanji if possible, but romaji will do) and I'll see what I can do. But no promises, as I'm not exactly the most fluent Japanese speaker around. Also, PLEASE don't display any of these lyrics elsewhere unless you credit me. Just my name and a link back here would be great. Thanks!
