A fellow BLOOD fan sent me the kanji lyrics to their song Morphine, and I've done the kanji and romaji transcriptions, so I'd like to get the English bit done as soon as I can. Plus, I don't want to think about all the homework that's going to eat me alive over the next couple days. Well, weeks. Plus part two: let's say I'm doing this one in honor of the fact that Kiwamu, lead member of BLOOD, emailed me today asking me to help with some translations on the English portions of their site while their official translator is too busy to keep up the effort right now, and I agreed. I'm a translator for a J-rock band. ^_^ *STILL pinging*

Anyway... to be honest, I haven't heard Morphine, except a small sample of it downloaded from the discography part of their official site. But that's cool. I'll hear it in a few weeks when my First Period Best CD comes in. Sooo... here it is.

BLOOD - MORPHINE

Kizarareta genjitsu ga shikou o odoraseta
Itsuwari no kotoba shika omoidasenai

Yurete yurete nemuri no naka de
Mezame no nai sekai de ikitsuzukeru

Kokoro no nai hyoujou de nani mo kanjinai
Tsukuriwarai ukabeteru yoishireta boku

Yurete yurete nemuri no naka de
Mezame no nai sekai de ikitsuzukeru

Tozasareta shikai wa nani mo
Kikoenai... tsubusareru
Sashidasu morphine no mitsu
Kizu sae iyasareru... iyasareru... my heart

Yurete yurete nemuri no naka de
Mezame no nai sekai de ikitsuzuketa
Yurete yurete nemuri no soko de
Mezame no nai sekai de yukiba nakusu

Tozasareta shikai wa nani mo
Kikoenai... tsubusareru
Sashidasu morphine no mitsu
Kizu sae iyasareru... iyasareru... my heart

Tsubusareru... tsubusareru...
...nani mo kikoenai...
Iyasareru... iyasareru...
...morphine no mitsu...

In English:

This decorated reality made my thoughts dance
I can recall nothing but lies

Wavering, wavering within sleep
I'll go on living in a world that never awakens

Through my soulless expression, I feel nothing
Intoxicated, I'm laughing a forced laugh

Wavering, wavering within sleep
I'll go on living in a world that never awakens

My field of vision closed, I can
Hear nothing... broken down
The nectar of morphine is submitted
Even a hurt is cured... cured... my heart [1]

Wavering, wavering within sleep
I went on living in a world that never awakens
Wavering, wavering in the depths of sleep
I lose my destination in this world that never awakens

My field of vision closed, I can
Hear nothing... broken down
The nectar of morphine is submitted
Even a hurt is cured... cured... my heart

Broken down... broken down...
...I can hear nothing...
Cured... cured...
...the nectar of morphine...

Hmm. This was too easy. That scares me. :x

[1] This chorus should sound familiar to BLOOD fans: it's the same verse that appears on the frontpage image at their official site (see above). But apparently that version was done by the band themselves, because... it's not perfect. ^^; Specifically, their infamous translation reads "I can see nothing on account of the field of vision closed. ...broken down... The morphine of syrup is submitted.a hurt is cured.also." Punctuation in context. Yeah... I actually would've used their translation, out of respect, but I went with the one above just because it feels more consistent with the other lyrics. You may substitute if you prefer. :P;;

I think that's it for this one. Now I really do have a ton of work to do in the next couple days, and even more in the week following that, so I should go get something accomplished now. Sigh.

(disclaimer: this song belongs to BLOOD, not me. I only take credit for the romanization and translation. I'm just a fangirl trying to make J-music a little more accessible to Americans. No copyright infringement is intended. Please don't sue me, I'm a poor college student. T_T)

I'm always finding Japanese songs that I adore, but can't find English translations for. So I've made a hobby of translating such songs, and this is where I put them. Can't find the song you want? Send me the lyrics (kanji if possible, but romaji will do) and I'll see what I can do. But no promises, as I'm not exactly the most fluent Japanese speaker around. Also, PLEASE don't display any of these lyrics elsewhere unless you credit me. Just my name and a link back here would be great. Thanks!
