Welcome to my little translation project. A bit of background info... I'm a fourth-year student at Ohio State University majoring in Japanese, and I adore the language. I'm also quite fond of Japanese music, from Ayumi Hamasaki to X Japan, anime themes to drama themes, and pretty much everything in between. I'm also one of those people who prefers to actually know what I'm saying when I sing Japanese lyrics to myself and my walls, but finding English translations for a lot of my favorite songs has been a real chore. More often than not I can only find the Japanese lyrics, either in romaji, kanji, or both, and even then only after a lot of hunting. So several months ago I said, hey, this song is awesome, and I'm gonna translate it for myself and everyone else out there who'd like to know what this girl is saying. That song was My Faith by Day After Tomorrow, my first translation endeavor. It took me hours, but it was so fun I ended up making a hobby of it. Well, sort of. Actually, I've only completed a small handful of translations, and they're probably not the best. But they get their points across. And recently I decided it was no good of me to keep these translations to myself; they are kept in my normal blog, but they're buried amongst more standard entries and surveys and quizzes and the such, so I created a new blog for them. Maybe one of these days I'll actually have enough translations to start a real webpage for them... but we'll see how it goes. So there's my intro. I'll be messing around more with this blog soon - eventually it will actually have lyrics and translations, I promise. I'll also add a comments thingy and possibly tweak the template a bit, etc etc. But that'll have to wait a bit longer, as 1) it's 3 in the morning and I have classes tomorrow, 2) I have a huge essay midterm due this Thursday that I haven't started yet, and 3) college is the devil. I just wanted to get this thing rolling tonight before it slipped my mind. That'll be it for now. Keep checking back - within the next few days I should have the first translation(s) posted. posted by Becky at 3:01 AM

I'm always finding Japanese songs that I adore, but can't find English translations for. So I've made a hobby of translating such songs, and this is where I put them. Can't find the song you want? Send me the lyrics (kanji if possible, but romaji will do) and I'll see what I can do. But no promises, as I'm not exactly the most fluent Japanese speaker around. Also, PLEASE don't display any of these lyrics elsewhere unless you credit me. Just my name and a link back here would be great. Thanks!
